Kosher Certification nearing completion

Lancaster Fine Foods - April 22, 2009

Lancaster Fine Foods has neared completion on achieving a 2009 Kosher certification. The new certification will allow for products to be produced in a way that follows all of the guidelines put forth by The Orthodox Union. The Orthodox Union is the world's largest kosher certification agency with more than 275,000 products and 6,000 plants certified in 83 countries. The OU symbol ensures customers that the product has passed an inspection and meets high quality standards. Some of the largest worldwide human food corporations also boast an OU certification. For example, Coca-Cola, Kraft/Nabisco, Nestle, Procter & Gamble, and many others proudly display the OU symbol on their products.

"The word Kosher itself means proper or acceptable and has informally entered the English language with that meaning. But Kosher laws have their orgin in the Bible, and are detailed in the Talmud and other codes of Jewish traditions. They have been applied through the centuries to ever-changing situations and these rulings both ancient and modern, govern OU Kosher Certification. " - Orthodox Union
